What do you value in life? Is it money, fame, intellect, sex, drugs, music, education,
owning a successful business, material possessions or even having a valid ministry?
What about your eternal soul? The video below is a wakeup call to everyone without
respect to whether you are a religious person or you despise religion and religious people!

What Brings Fulfillment to You and I?

According to the scriptures this is not a moot point, but a very important consideration!
As a matter of fact it is the most vital consideration in the life of every man, woman and
child you will ever encounter! To ignore this question is to court disaster with eternal
consequences that will make us wish we could stop and think this through once again!

There is a trade off many are making that is irreversible after death. People are guilty
of trading off a right relationship with God for trinkets that are so sub par in value that
to realize the enormity of it is like being hit with a ton of bricks right in the face! Well,
you might say, God is a relic of the past. He is no longer relevant in this technological
generation. We have risen above such primitive superstition. You're stuck in an old
antiquated belief system that realists and intellectually astute people reject today.
To you I answer, man apart from God has only "wisdumb." Dumb is the key part of
this phrase because only spiritual beings can understand spiritual truth, and when
you drop God from the equation of life you are totally unspiritual. Unfortunately for
those who choose to believe this way, God will not go away no matter what we wish
to believe. He is eternal and the only uncreated being in existence, and whether we
like to acknowledge it or not we will all give an account of our lives to him in the final judgment. There will be no nay sayers there, and intellectual pride will be absolutely
condemned as sin and rebellion against God. You see, finite thinking can't sort out
infinite truth, and infinite truth comes from an infinite mind. God is the ultimate infinite
person in the universe, and the wise bring their finite knowledge to him for cleanup.
This is the first step in turning our wisdumb into wisdom which God alone can supply!
I am investing more time on this one thing than all others because man somehow has
deceived himself into believing he is intellectually superior to his creator and allowed
Satan to trick his mind into accepting this blatant lie as reality. If we don't address the
way we think in relation to God first, then there will never be a change in our life that
will produce beneficial results that are lasting in this life and in the life to come!

Those Other Things

Beyond our intellect we have a massive array of obstacles that keep us from seeking
God, and multitudes are all wrapped up in these things and blinded by all those things
that glitter and appear to be gold but are really spiritual death in disguise. The first video
on this page discusses these things and calls them idols, and rightly so because they are
the things that we idolize in the place of God. The list includes movie stars, sports stars,
rock stars, sports stars, and even porn stars. In addition, people have become immersed
in philosophy, religion without life, materialism, slavery to jobs, sexual perversion, and
much more that fills our hearts and minds and effectively shuts God our of our lives. In
short, every one of us is guilty of idolatry, and, the most amazing thing of all is that some
have swallowed the lie that we are self-sufficient and masters of our own destiny.

If we can get beyond this idolatry long enough to think rationally we will see that we
are in great peril! Consider whether it is a good trade off from the standpoint of logic.
Intellectual pride that will give us satisfaction now in trade for an eternity of peace,
sexual fulfillment now in trade for eternal torment and suffering, material advantage
in trade for a position in heaven with all the wonderful things God has promised to those
who love him, religious performance and ritual in trade for a personal loving relationship
with the creator and sustainer of the universe, or even all of the above in trade for a
mansion in glory and the company of angels and saints where love reigns supreme
and no sin, pain, death or any evil thing will ever enter.

In the scriptures these things fall into three categories; the lust of the flesh, the lust
of the eyes and the pride of life. Things that we need to pamper ourselves, things
that look appealing to our eyes but never give lasting satisfaction, and the pride that
allows us to believe ourselves to be somehow superior to others and wiser than God.

We all need a serious self-examination before the books are closed on our lives and
we find ourselves face-to-face with God in all his holiness and power as our judge
and realize we have sold our inheritance in Christ for what amounts to garbage in
comparison. What will we give for an excuse when we bow before God in all his
purity and holiness and with his peircing gaze calls us up to be judged for our total
rejection of him? We better all find out before it is eternally too late! We are not
promised another second in this life, another hour, another day - another year!
It is appointed unto man once to die - we will all keep this appointment. He 9:27
