SIN AND
REDEMPTION
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Adam and Eve's sin created some lasting results!
Through their disobedience mankind became subject to physical death, spiritual death and the inheritance of a sin nature that we all have from tiny babies through adulthood until death.
The most terrible aspect of sin is that it separated man from a loving God who created man perfect and gave him everything he would need to live a happy and fulfilled life. Sin is an
ingrained evil, and always has a relation to God because sin violates God's commandments.
Some scriptures that define sin are Proverbs 21:4 "An high look and a proud heart and the plowing of the wicked is sin," Proverbs 24:9 "The thought of foolishness is sin, and the scorner
is an abomination to men," Romans 14:23 "And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because
he eateth not of faith, for whatsoever is not of faith is sin," James 4:17 "Therefore to him that
knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin," I John 3:4 "Whosoever committeth sin
transgresseth also the law, for sin is the transgression of the law," and I John 5:17 "All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not unto death." -- SIN THEN IS ULTIMATELY EVIL
AND WE ALL HAVE ALLOWED OUR SINFUL NATURE TO HAVE THE ASCENDECY TIME AND
AGAIN IN LIFE, AND DESERVE NOTHING MORE THAN THE JUDGMENT AND WRATH OF GOD!
One thing that is true among most Christians and all unbelievers is that we do not truly understand the depth of sin. We do not see it as God does, and so we question his judgment concerning the depth of punishment that sin merits; especially eternal punishment!
To understand sin we must understand that it is obstinate and rebellious, willful and perverse, unbelieving, willing ignorance, ignoring or refusing to listen to our conscience, deliberately defying God's commandments, and has no regard for the consequences of the actions of sin.
All this in spite of the fact that God has written the very things that will help us overcome our perverse nature and live in victory if we but come to God for forgiveness and receive his grace and mercy to live as we should after our salvation is secured through the blood of Jesus Christ!
REDEMPTION IS PRIMARILY FOUND IN ONE VERSE OF SCRIPTURE THAT VIRTUALLY EVERY PERSON HAS HEARD AT ONE TIME OR THE OTHER IN THEIR LIFE. Repentance is the key!
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." Romans 10:9 and 10 spell it out
more clearly: "That if we will confess with our mouth, and believe in our heart that God has
raised Jesus from the dead; we shall be saved."

Hamartiology or the Doctrine of Sin
God originally put into mankind qualities for discovery and personal development , and then gave man responsibility by which he might discover how to develop the garden of Eden.
Temptation first came to man through three avenues - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Eve lusted because of her hunger, she saw the fruit was pleasant to the eyes, and she heard the serpent promise her she would be as God appealing to her pride.
Temptation alone is not sin! Sin takes place when we yield to it and disobey God's laws.
Scriptures Concerning the Sinful Condition of Mankind
Genesis 6:5 (during the days of Noah), Genesis 8:21, 1 Kings 8:46, 2 Chronicles 6:36,
Psalms 14:3, Psalms 53:3, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Isaiah 53:6, Isaiah 64:6, Jeremiah 17:9,
Romans 3:10-12 and 23, Romans 5:12, Galatians 3:22, and 1 John 1:8 and 10.
There is more than sufficient proof in these verses to show that man's very nature is sin!
They should also make it clear that we are all in need of godly sorrow that leads to repentance! The body of Christ in this generation has softened the message both in and
out of the church minimizing the horrible wickedness of sin or making men comfortable
in their sin supposing that God will surely not punish those who rebel against him. We live
with our heads in the clouds of God's mercy and refuse to deal with his righteous judgment,
indignation and wrath which are coming upon a world that has forsaken morals and laughed
in the face of God to their own destruction. What a terrible accounting will be given before
God in all his holiness and power if his own people will not repent of this ungodly attitude
toward God's Word, fellow believers and the lost in the world today! Paul said that he was
preaching the "whole counsel of God" (not just the sweets of God's Word). Christians better
wake up to reality for judgment begins at the house of God, and we have been found wanting! The first call of repentance is to us and then to the world! God forbid that we
should continie on in this spiritual sterility in a time when the gospel presented in the power of the Holy Spirit is so desperately needed! May God help us to love him enough to obey!
