Samuel John Booker, the creator of the well-known Precious Moments characters was born in 1939,
and as a child, he spent many hours writing stories and illustrating them. Over the years Sam came
to know Christ as His Saviour and devoted his life to Him. In 1975 Precious Moments were just part
of a greeting card effort, but in 1978 that all changed. That year Eugene Freedman approached Sam about making his characters into three dimensional porcelain figurines. The rest is history as events
unfolded and creative artists joined Sam to make Precious Moments special to millions worldwide.
