Do We Really Want
Revival?
II Chronicles 7:14
Matt. 3:11
Acts 2:3
Lord Send Your Holy Fire and Purge My Heart of All That Would Hinder Your Work In Me!
What is Revival and How Does it Start? (Count the Cost!)
"After a half century of pleading, praying, preaching and writing about revival, America
still has not experienced true revival. We live in a generation which has never known
revival - God's way. True revival changes the moral climate of an area or a nation. It
could change the world. Without exception, all true revivals of the past began after
years of agonizing, hell-robbing, earth-shaking, heaven sent intercession. The secret
to true revival in our own day is still the same. But where, oh where, are the
intercessors? As I have said before:
When the church gets a divorce from the world;
When we can ignore so-called Christian entertainers who attempt to combine
Hollywood and holiness;
When we cease from the strivings of the flesh and recognize that the Bible alone
has the formula for revival;
We shall at last have started on the road to reformation in the church, which must
precede the true spiritual awakening which alone can save our generation."
Leonard Ravenhill - Revival God's Way - copyright 1984 - Preface
"I was born to fight devils and factions.
It is my business to remove obstructions,
to cut down thorns, to fill up quagmires,
and to open and make straight paths.
But if I must have some failing;
let me rather speak the truth with too
great severity than once to act the
hypocrite and conceal the truth."
MARTIN LUTHER
This man's firm adherence to holy
principles eclipses todays pulpits!

LORD, SEND A REVIVAL
"I see the peril of the world, I see it rot,
I see the church and know she has not got,
What she should have of Calvary love and passion,
She loves her ease and style, and this world's
smile and fashion.
O Christ, was it for this that thou didst bleed?
For churches blind to human need?
For lounging pew warmers who never tell
Of saving grace to sinners bound for Hell?
You promised us a baptism of fire.
But here we are bogged down in slothful mire,
Thy people fat, content, increased in goods,
Resentful if we prod them from their moods.
Forgive them Father, oh forgive!
Shake them awake, and let them live
Upon the plane of Pentecostal power---
Less enduement cannot meet this hour.
Before you come to take your spotless bride,
We trust you for a world revival tide."
by Leonard Ravenhill

"How, in the light of a burgeoning world population and a half-paralyzed church, can we be
tearless in our personal or church prayer times? There are more lost souls on this planet
earth at this moment than ever in history. What a challenge to pray the Lord of the harvest
to send forth laborers! Yet how can they hear without a soul-hot preacher declaring that
this generation of believers is responsible for this generation of lost multitudes?
Many ministers are happy to be babysitters for believers suffering from chronic spiritual
malnutrition. The pulpiteers are happy to proclaim with a loud voice to the pew dwellers
that they can have a thousand benefits for their one deposit of sins at the cross. The
responsibilities of the soldier-Christian are advanced weakly. We get the benefits and
cruise home to glory. But the Christian life is a battle! Truth is fallen in the streets. What
is far worse, truth lies fallen in the pulpits today! Men wrest scriptures to their own
destruction and to cripple the faith of others.
At this moment the world lies bleeding at our feet, raped by war, ravaged by famine,
ripped by inflation, repressed by recession, and riddled by unemployment. The United
Nations watches with anxiety while Northern Ireland is devasted by a near-civil war,
while Afghanastan is raped before our eyes, while Iran and Iraq slaughter each other,
while Poland cries in bondage, while Lebanon writhes in pain, and while Central
America is decimated by Communist insurgents. In this framework of powerless politics,
inflated greed and spiritual decline, there are just three types of people: those who are
afraid, those who do not know enough to be afraid, and those who know the Bible.
The God of holiness and eternal majesty is hardly mentioned these days. The preachers
used to declare with holy boldness to the pew dwellers, 'You are lost.' Today it is, 'You
are loved.' Unless the preachers walk in the fear of the Lord and step out of eternity
into the pulpits, the spiritual life of the nation will continue in its descent to weakness
and finally apostasy. We need a national day of penitence and prayer for preachers.
While we have been holding conferences on theological puzzles, men have dropped
into Christless graves by the milliions. There they will never sleep. Hell has no day;
only night--eternal night. It is a ceaseless night; a night of endless torment. To say that
the Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses and others do not believe in Hell us a cop-out for
the prayerless Christian. God's problem in the United States and England is not
humanism, or communism or spiritism. God's problem in America and England is dead
fundamentalism! We mouth words about eternity, but live and think as if time will never
end. Where, oh where, are the eternity-conscious believers? Where are the souls
white-hot for God because they fear His holy name and presence and so live with
eternity's values in view? If we had more sleepless nights in prayer, there would be
far fewer souls to have a sleepless eternal night in Hell." - L. Ravenhill - 1984
IT IS FAR PAST TIME TO STOP PLAYING CHURCH!
Spur of the Moment Inspiration
"It is said that we are most strongly influenced by our five closest friends or associates!
Shouldn't the first three be the Father, Son and Holy Ghost?" -- C. R. Lord -- 11/7/2009

O GIVE ME A CHURCH
(Sung to the tune of- "O Give Me A Home")
Sing the Chorus after each verse
O give me a church where the dead in Christ roam
Where the saints are all busy at play
Where nought will disturb, no exhorting is heard
And the people have not learned to pray.
O give me a church where the preaching is sweet
Where picnics and banquets abound
Where folks smile and sing of the Saviour and King
And challenging words are not found.
O give me that church and I'll die in my sins
For it's sure that nobody will tell
That I ought to obey Christ who is the True Way
Or I'll find myself lost and in Hell.
Chorus
There Christ is not known
And the preaching is dry as a bone
And the devil with glee laughs at their poverty
While the world in despair dies alone.
C. R. Lord
I'm Not Called!
Not called! did you say?
Not heard the call I think you should say.
Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear
Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the
fires of sin!
Put your ear down to the burdened,
agonized heart of humanity, and listen
to its pitiful wail for help!
Go stand by the gates of Hell, and hear
the damned entreat you to go to their
father's house and bid their brothers and
sisters not to come there!
Then look Christ in the face whose mercy
you have professed to obey, and tell Him
whether you will join heart and soul and body
and circumstances in the march to publish His
mercy to the world!
