My Testimony in Brief
My life was filled with trouble from my birth on September 27, 1942 until the day of
my salvation on February 19, 1974. I don't remember anything prior to the eighth
year of my life. At the age of eight, my dad took me without telling my mother, and
put me in his tractor-trailer and left for Michigan just to drop me off with some people
who really didn't want me either. Shortly after that I ended up with a family that did want
me, and my mother located me a year later. This generated 23 years of intense
hatred for my father. Three years after I came home , due to financial stress, my mom
put three of us in an orphanage where we stayed until I was sixteen years of age.
My mom remarried and brought us home and then divorced a second abusive husband
before I graduated high school and left for the military at the tender age of 17.
From there I learned to drink and party for 6 years and then turned to the drug culture as
a hippie for another six years. I married a suicidal girl who ended up in a mental institution,
purchased and then used and sold drugs, attempted suicide myself, and eventually found
myself in Broward County Prison in Fort Lauderdale, Florida facing 15 years for possession.
Because I had no previous record they gave me a misdemeanor and 18 days. It was there
that I finally realized I was messing up my life and had no clear goals or purpose, and began
to read a Bible in that cell and asked questions nobody there could answer.
Needless to say, when I got out I found my answers by turning my life over to God through
the sacrifice Christ paid for my salvation, and I have been freed from my foolishness and
spiritual ignorance for nearly 35 years at the time of this writing. Truly God is amazing and
wonderfully forgiving to those who will turn to Him and trust Him!
